Overview

Rockstar continues to improve upon one of the greatest games of all time, not to mention getting over the hump that haunted them for the past seven years. While not as significant of an overhaul as when they brought it to PS4 and Xbox One, Grand Theft Auto V offers the most graphical options and accessibilities on PC.

GTA V Benchmarked: Graphics & CPU Performance. We've come away impressed with the PC version of GTA V. Rockstar has delivered on its promise of giving PC users full control over every aspect of their graphical experience. The game looks breathtaking yet it can still be played maxed out on modest hardware with FXAA.

GTA V's credits roll for 36 minutes. For however many hours they play the game, players will feel that they are playing a game made by the amount of people it takes to keep a crawl rolling that long. The attention to detail in GTA V is likely unparalleled in any other video game.

Either way, if you've got the budget to game at 4K resolution, GTA V certainly will not disappoint. I mean, if you're going to run around terrorizing a city, performing despicable acts, you might as well do it up like a baller, no?

Overall, Grand Theft Auto V is an absolute treat to play on PC and having been able to run it on a 4K monitor was amazing. I maxed it out using NVIDIA’s GeForce Titan X which I paired up with Acer’s 4K G-Sync monitor. Having seen what GTA V looks like on my PC has convinced me to keep the PS4 version in my bookcase. It’s absolutely stunning and Rockstar has outdone themselves once again with this version of the game.

Grand Theft Auto V took its sweet time to arrive on PC, but this is clearly the version to own, thanks to Rockstar putting care into the port to supply not only a beautiful looking game that can run a butter smooth 60fps, but is also the most feature rich version, containing all the engaging story, refinements to the game mechanics and all new built-in applications to allow creators to make their own shorts within the world of Grand Theft Auto V.

The team in charge of porting GTAV to PC has done right by the game. It’s a tremendous effort, considering the hit-or-miss history of Rockstar’s PC ports, and if anything, should serve as a consolation prize to those still sore over Red Dead Redemption’s omission from the Windows platform. No doubt, future updates and optimizations will be patched in, but for what we’ve got right out of the gate, there’s a lot going on for the PC crowd this time around.
