The Beats Fit Pro offer an AirPods Pro-esque experience with a fitness focus, sporting wingtips that'll keep the buds securely in place, bass to keep you going through long workouts and crucially, better Android support than Apple's high-end buds. The case is on the large side and it feels flimsy in places, but that's a small price to pay for great performance.

The Beats Fit Pro deliver an AirPods Pro-like experience at a lower price. They have a robust feature set that includes active noise cancellation, spatial audio support and hands-free Siri on iOS, but Android owners won’t get the full experience. There’s still room to grow here, but overall the Beats Fit Pro are a snug-fitting, workout-friendly alternative to Apple’s flagship true wireless earbuds.

At $199.99, they undercut Sony’s WF-1000XM4, and land at around the street price for a set of AirPods Pro. Though I rate Sony’s ANC a little higher, the Beats Fit Pro stay in place better for me than either of the other two designs. The active noise cancelling earbud segment may be fiercely competitive right now but, by going back to basics and getting the fit right, Beats manages to stand apart – even from the Apple AirPods they share so much of their tech with.

If you already own a set of AirPods or bought the Studio Buds earlier this year, these aren’t a must have. But if you’ve been searching for something worthy of replacing your Powerbeats Pro, the Beats Fit Pro might just be the ticket. They’re the sporty AirPod Pros a lot of people have been waiting for.

If you’re looking for the best of what AirPods has to offer in earbuds that don’t have the polarizing stick apparatus, the Beats Fit Pro should do the trick. They offer a nice blend of features, sound and noise-cancelling performance for the price. Sure, there are better options but they also cost significantly more, especially if you’re looking for the absolute best audio quality. For now, Beats is giving the masses an AirPods alternative that’s actually still packed with Apple tech. And that’s an interesting proposition for iPhone owners.

While the AirPods Pro list for $250, they now generally sell for around $200 and sometimes less online. So they're basically the same price as the Beats Fit Pro. I guess Apple wins either way if you buy one or the other, but it's funny to see two models from the same company competing directly with each other. Maybe it will bring out the best in Apple and the AirPods Pro 2 will be that much better when they arrive, perhaps as soon as next year. But for now these may very well the best Apple earbuds you can buy, particularly if you're looking for buds that lock in your ears.
